Nelson Co. Marriage Bonds by Stancliff. Patience Cummins was a
member of Little Flock Baptist Ch. Sullivan Co. In. in June 1821, a
constituent member. Located 2 miles south of
Currysville. Robert served as an Ensign in the 27th Reg of
Ky. Militia on 10-14-1805. Moved with his father to
Sullivan Co. in 1819. Was still alive in 1840 In census.
Census indicates that Robert G. Cummins was born 1780 to
1790. 1810 Nelson Co. Ky. census has a R.G. Cummins and on
same page a John Cummins. John Cummins has nine children,
his and his wife's age are over 45, so born before

Wofe's Sullivan Co. History:
under Vachel Cummins pg.271--His father was John A who married Mary
Crist. He was born in Kentucky during the year 1813. The
grandfather Robert Cummins located in Curry Twp. in 1819 and remained
until his death. The great grandfather was born in Scotland and
with 4 brothers emigrated to U.S. and settled in Pa.. So John A is
probably a son of Robert G. Cummins.
1790 Pa. Census: Only Cummins/Bonam combinations:
Northampton Co. are David Cummins, Daniel Cummins, Samuel Bonam, and
Benjamin Bonam. No 1800 census for these individuals in
Northampton Co. Pa
Davis-Bosstick Genealogy lists a Patience Bonham, b. ca.
1778 married to one
Robert Cummings, she was daughter of Jacob Bonham (
Boner/Bonham family page).
So some confusion exists as to Patience's maiden name. I have not
seen record in Stancliff, but could easily confuse Boner and Bonham
with old writing.
