So John was born before 1765. Since he has one male in 1790
besides himself, 16 up, was married by at least 1774. Could
be the John Irons that married Catherine Hamm in 1767 in Queen Annes
County, church record.

Maryland, under Capt Alex Smith for 3 years.

Grandson in Keokuk Co. Iowa biography states he died at age 78.(?) so
born 1740 ? States he came to America age 6 months, from Germany.
